In the final chapter I present my final recommendation, as well as some other points worth mentioning that will be relevant to the approach Dansmuseet should implement. However, all the activities have their base in some exhibit object in one form or another. As stated earlier the draw boxes underneath the showcases could be drawn out and when this happened they played a piece of music from the production the showcase was from. I am not sure if it is even a good or bad thing, considering that design is always a highly contextual activity but there is a distinct possibility that the thesis would have different results and themes if it had taken place in any other place in the world, be it another city, country or even just another museum in Stockholm. One of the proposals, the app-suggestion in the parallel design, came close to showcasing what this might look like in the future. The Smithsonian Institution has an artwork that makes heavy use of Google Glasses:

She did end the interview by providing some interesting suggestions in terms of a quiz. An example of this is shown in figure 9. It is interesting to note that Kovoroly stated that ubiquitous accessibility was never a goal with the exhibition, there is for instance no braille-text available as an alternative to the other forms of information and overall the museum is a little bit hard to access if one would have a disability. The audio guide provided a clear sense of freedom, as the visitors felt they could move into and out of a planned structure thanks to the audio guide. The app had basic information and an introduction to the current exhibition at the museum, but also made use of QR-technology. With feedback during the process, the students presented their final proposals on the 30th of September at Dansmuseet. An argument in favor of the constructivist view is that the human mind is capable of learning more if there is previous knowledge surrounding the particular field.

Not only did it provide general information, but there were QR-codes that led to several examples of information and associated audio. Also there was an area more focused on children that had drawers the visitor could draw out to access information. Essentially art becomes interactive when audience behavior can change the artwork Edmonds, The basic premise is simple mxster showing his own created type of American flag, as shown in figure Limit the search further. The recharger is hard to analyze based on this technology, but could have an easier time finding a relevant museum if he or she looked at other visitors examples of usage of this application.

However, the bulk of comparisons will be made in the Discussion chapter listed after this one. This poses an interesting dilemma, since the technology used should be durable since it is so seamless but at the same time this approach might not further the relevant debate regarding implementing technology in the museum exhibition. As seen in figure 12 the user gets a number of potential tags to choose from as well as the option of creating a new tag.

I also take a close look at specific examples of the implementation undertaken in museums other than Dansmuseet.

However, the main argument that this is the best approach is that it is about layered information, the concept already firmly established in the redesign of the main exhibition that corresponds to the sense that the museum visit oth part of a trajectroy.

The context is important for a number of reasons, as described earlier. At the same time there was an expressed concern by some that adding any kind kt technology would disturb the intended focus that was to be provided by the exhibition. Share or delete the result Figure The exhibition items where all different property of Wilhelmina von Hallwyll and the visit consisted of walking in the different rooms while the guide presented the czc and overall gave a context for the visitors to frame the perceived artifacts into.

In another section of the main exhibition are models of scenography from different dance-productions, an example of which is shown in figure I also tried to get a sense of categorization regarding the technological developments related to museums. I am not sure if it is even a good or csx thing, considering that design is always a highly contextual activity but there is a distinct possibility that the thesis would have different results and themes if it had taken place in any other place in the world, be it another city, country or even just another museum in Stockholm.

The interactive showcase As stated during the presentation of the interactive showcase the idea with this kind kgh showcase theais that it is an addendum.

This proposal had a more peripheral role mwster the other proposals as it was placed outside the actual exhibition and had a very playful approach. Job description We are looking for a PhD with a keen interest in implementation and adaption of image analysis algorithms for quantitative analysis of microscopy data to join the SciLifeLab BIIF https: The constructivist theory also supports this idea, and thus it begs the question if the actual experience is more important than the knowledge learned mastrr the museum environment.

She could not really decide whether information or activation is more important in a potential application within a museum so she suggested presenting both features within the museum environment. The scenographer responsible for the redesign of Dansmuseet, Kovoroly, even admitted this masteer be a major inspiration for how Dansmuseet would be approaching their presentation of information. It is also worth questioning if this technology will take place in an application or if other more accessible forms of technology will be more suitable in the future.

A series of interviews were conducted with non-museum staff to get an outside perspective on what could be implemented as well as getting suggestions on what types of technology had already been implemented in other museums.

csv There is also an extra function in the app that is cssc unless the user visits Tate Modern in London and activates it. A Wii balance board is seen in figure The wall of text is deemed by some sources I encountered as an outdated way of presenting information and the way Dansmuseet layer information, through their use of drawers as well as their approach to using tablets, is something that was deemed successful and innovative by the groups I had as participants in my process.

The staff at Dansmuseet really appreciated the notion of being able to collect and share exhibition items in a digital capacity.

I also had this workshop after the student workshop as I wanted to suggest some of the generated ideas and see how well they were received.

This information was not about just one object, but presented a context for the user. In this sort of process one of the first steps needed is to identify what are the actual potential users of the implemented technology? The staff at Dansmuseet felt that while it was interesting to originate from an analogue style of technological approach, there simply was not any room for this type of idea.

It is also very focused on the actual time spent in the museum, which might be a further argument that the approach does not further the discussion regarding museum authority in any significant way. The definition is essentially that they require little to no training and are easily accessed and can be implemented within the context of the museum.
