Judging of Essays Essays will be distributed to a panel of judges for evaluation. Essays must be written legibly on lined paper, the template for which will be emailed along with the directions for administering the contest on January Alla Smyslova as columbia.
Students are not allowed to consult any books, notes, or outside sources to write their essays, and may not work together. All essays must be submitted as specified here: Students other than Russian Heritage Speakers.
No refunds are available for students who do not show up for the essay contest. No Awards will be assigned to essays of less than five comprehensible Russian sentences or to essays with inappropriate content. Teachers must send the original essays within 48 hours of writing to Co-chair John Rook at the following address: Students write essays in Russian on a topic announced at the beginning of a two-hour period during the week before Thanksgiving.

National Post-Secondary Russian Essay Contest (NPSREC) – ACTR
Students who speak Russian with their families, and who attended school for 5 or more years in Russia or the former Soviet Union and have not had to relearn reading and writing skills. Both the folder owner and sender will receive a notification that files were uploaded successfully.
Class notes are not allowed. Please pay your dues online if you have not already done so.
Calculate the number of contact hours of formal language instruction, multiply that number nationnal 2, and use the result as the total number of contact hours. Upload via email only works for file attachments. Three j udges in Moscow will evaluate essays according to content the ability to express ideas in Russian and communicate information about the topic and length, lexicon, syntax, structure grammatical and orthographic accuracyand originality or creativity.
